Available Roles
Senior Speech Generation Scientist
We are looking for a senior machine learning scientist experienced in speech generation technology to help us improve our speech-to-speech deep learning model. They should be excited about our mission to give millions of people better economic opportunities by clarifying their speech.
Responsibilities
- Work on improving our speech-to-speech Machine Learning (ML) model, including model architecture, parameter tuning, training.
- Run experiments and iterate on refining ML models
- Collaborate with other scientists and engineers to develop ML models.
- Ensure models and the overall inference pipelines run efficiently on Cloud
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the following areas:
- Text-to-speech (TTS) and voice conversion
- Experience with developing and debugging in Python
- Hands on deep learning skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD degree in Computer Science, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in deep learning techniques, especially sequence-to-sequence models, encoder/decoder, VQ-VAE, GAN.
- Experience with developing and debugging in Python
- Proven track record in speech technology innovations.

Senior Cloud Engineer (GCP)

Role Overview
Build and Improve the model inference infrastructure to reduce latency and improve handling of streaming audio inputs. Improve the model training infrastructure in PyTorch, e.g. training speed, job management, log management, and Cloud storage integration, Build and improve data processing infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale the model inference infrastructure for real time streaming audio inputs to reduce latency and improve scalability & reliability.
- Develop tools to monitor the performance of inference infrastructure
- Improve the CI/CD process
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience with cloud engineering
- Hands-on experience in building infrastructure on GCP that can handle large scale traffic
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Relevant certifications such as Google Professional Cloud Architect
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in Python
- Experience in site reliability engineering is helpful

Responsibilities
- Develop and operate pipelines for large scale speech data processing using Apache Beam and Google Cloud Dataflow
- Develop algorithms for training data selection and augmentation for speech ML models
- Closely collaborate with the researchers for achieving the model performance goals
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering
- Experienced in web scraping and data processing
- Extensive hands-on experience on large scale data processing
- Proficient in at least one of Apache Beam, Spark and Flink
- Passionate about and skillful at data analysis; able to produce practical insights
- Good understanding of the state-of-the-art deep learning techniques
- Proficient in Python and PyTorch
