Run the PC App Mic Check

Once the PC App is installed, it is recommended first to run a Mic Check to test how your voice sounds with a softened accent or with noise cancellation.

This allows you try different versions of the Accent Softening and see which sounds best, plus to test how sounds are denoised.

How to Run a Mic Check

Run the mic check

Follow these steps, starting on the main screen of the PC App:

  1. Select a feature to test
    – Either Soften Accent & Denoise (pick a voice from the dropdown)
    – or Denoise Only
  2. Press the Test your mic link
  3. Press Start Recording, recite a typical script, then Stop Recording
  4. Press Replay to hear the enhanced output, or Start Recording to re-record
  5. Press Back to the main screen to pick a different option to test

Tips for Accent Softening Testing

When testing accent softening, you should record a typical script you might use with a customer that lasts at least 60 seconds to see how it sounds when the accent is softened.

Alternatively, you can read the short customer support script on the Mic Check screen. It is recommended that you test at least 3 different voices to find an optimal one for you that sounds most natural and intelligible.

Tips for Noise Cancellation Testing

When testing Noise Cancellation it is recommended that you test in the environment you normally work in, with the typical background noises that occur during your work day, wether it is other coworkers speaking, or at home noises like kids and animals.
